Re: the greatness of rods (not)

Sorry folks - now strike me down with fork lightning oh lord of music - 
but I beg to differ about Rodney. Honestly? I know he's a decent fella 'n 
all but this isn't about that. I think his songs added a naff dimension to 
the BAs. There... said it... done... I'll be the Billy Nomates and the 
Xmas gig from now on! 

Apart from Saturation Point and the BAs, who nose dived slightly after he 
left in the early 90s (or whenever it was - glad he's back though), I 
believe John was also playing in a band called Witness. John Langley is up 
there with people like Pete De Freitas from the Bunnymen as all time fab 
drummers. Talk about constants - should be John/Angelo and Gerard.

  i want to echo what was said about rodney allen.  he's a teriffic 
songwriter

  to my mind, the line-up can change but 2 constants must remain in order

  as to the live show--i've seen them too many times to count (but haven't 
  seen them since about 1998.  there were some great guys in the band post 
  beatsongs, but that line-up was perhaps the best live band i've ever 
seen.  
  subsequent versions of the planes weren't able to match that, quite (to 
my 
  mind) and i lost a bit of interest, pining for the 'good old days."

  does anyone know what john langely is up to???
