John L. was drumming with the Aeroplanes again when I saw them in
London. And I think he's in Saturation Point with Julian Poole and
Joe Allen: http://www.saturationpoint.net/
Glad to see that other people rate "Your Ages": the perfect
soundtrack to a heatwave summer.

all--
i want to echo what was said about rodney allen. he's a teriffic
songwriter (his contributions to swagger and beatsongs being my
faves), a great singer, and a lovely guy (did anyone know that
rod's sister bev married alex lee?). to my mind, the line-up can
change but 2 constants must remain in order for it to be the blue
aeroplanes: gerard and rodney.
as to the live show--i've seen them too many times to count (but
haven't seen them since about 1998. there were some great guys in
the band post beatsongs, but that line-up was perhaps the best live
band i've ever seen. subsequent versions of the planes weren't
able to match that, quite (to my mind) and i lost a bit of
interest, pining for the 'good old days."
does anyone know what john langely is up to???
