For the record, my original comment about Gil Norton, which succeeded in
sparking off what shall now be known as The Great Rodney Debate, was not
an
attack on the man`s production, merely a statement that his personal
feelings on Rodney (and perhaps backing vocals in general - spot Michael
Stipe in `What It Is`) have made it somewhat tricky to decode Master
Allen`s
mumblings. Gil Norton also produced `Doolittle` by the Pixies, and
therefore
played a part in the two finest albums I have heard. I would therefore
sooner insult my own mother (Gawd Bless `Er) than cast aspursions upon his
fine talent.

Rodney Debate - All that I would have said has been said (and better)  by
others (noteably Kate)........

Incidentally, Kate, `Imperial` is on the Weird Shit tape - be patient, be
patient........
