Well, I wasn't being rude to people who like Rodney's contribution, I was
just surprised there were so many of them.  But I'm a reasonable man and
will admit that I haven't been keeping close tabs on his stuff during the
last few years.  Perhaps he'll bowl me over with a solo set next week.

I don't like being told that I'm launching personal attacks, though.  I'm
expressing a critical opinion of a component of the Blue Aeroplanes sound,
and as a fan of the Blue Aeroplanes I consider myself reasonably qualified
to do that.  I appreciate the diversity within the band, that's always
existed since long before Rodney came along.  I wear DMs myself - I'll say
anything but I'll lay off of his yellow stitch Airwear shoes.

As for not liking pop, I love pop - but there's an awful lot of it about
and
not all of it can be top drawer.  Occasionally it's healthy to make a
distinction, based, of course, on your own personal preferences.
