Me:
I interviewed Gerard on local radio a few years ago, and he mentioned a
similar Rodney incident where he'd announced he could play any Beatles
song. I think it was at some specific place though, and A Day In The Life
was the song mentioned. Perhaps its happened a few times?

Me again:
In the same interview, Gerard said that their record for the number of
guitarists on BIMH was set at Birmingham while supporting REM - I think it
may have been 15 and included (I'm going by memory here) Rodney's sister,
a couple of NME journalists and indeed most of REM.
