I interviewed Rodney on the radio here in the States back in '91.
He brought his guitar and sure enough did some Beatles songs.
Quite fun.

that
Rodney could play any Beatles song and someone called out Tomorrow Never
Knows.
he also threw his guitar into the audience at the end only for a roadie to
jump
into the audience to get it straight back.

Me:
I interviewed Gerard on local radio a few years ago, and he mentioned a
similar
Rodney incident where he'd announced he could play any Beatles song. I
think it was at some specific place though, and A Day In The Life was the
song
mentioned. Perhaps its happened a few times?

have a clue what they performed, but was sufficiently impressed to go and
buy
whatever CDs where available the next day (Friendloverplane was all I
could find
and a short wait for Swagger to be released). Anybody any ideas what
songs they
performed on the tour, I guess Breaking In My Heart was last as they were
joined
by a few extra guitarists (most of REM?).

Me again:
In the same interview, Gerard said that their record for the number of
guitarists on BIMH was set at Birmingham while supporting REM - I think it
may
have been 15 and included (I'm going by memory here) Rodney's sister, a
couple of NME journalists and indeed most of REM.
