The gig was a stormer! A sell-out, there was a blue carpet at the
entrance,
air hostesses and a lingerie-clad stiltwater (who later joined the band on
guitar for "Breakin'"). Sadly no Dogbolter in evidence, but Bath Ales' Gem
on draught, as well as that blue beer that tastes of oranges.

Myself and my colleague Ian played Northern soul vinyl between & after the
bands - had a few nice comments and requests - and all 5 acts were great
and
very disparate - great to hear Davey W playing out - the whole night was
both eclectic and excellent enough to warrant the whole "Launch Gig"
malarkey &
goes to prove that Chris and his team can put on a great show with bells
on!

The Aeros played for well over an hour - a mix of old and new, with Wojtek
on top form & using the natural features of the venue (those pillars!) to
full effect, Rodney sang "Fun", Rita sang one too, as did Gerard S. And
John
is still the best drummer in Bristol!

Tracklisting anyone?

I look forward to hearing the LP!

Am not surprised there haven't been many posts here yet - I left at 2 to
go
on to a soul club, and when we came back to the Fleece to pick up a
friend's car well after 4 it sounded as if there was lock-in in full
effect.

Cheers!

Rocker
