Hi Andy -

Greetings to Musselburgh. I totally agree! I used to live in King's Street
(just near Grandison Garage). I have fond memories of Saturday nights in
the
Sportsman's and the Grey Horse. Musselburgh could really do with a decent
venue. When was the last BA trip to Scotland? Was it King Tut's in 2006?

Sounds amazing and every blessing for the opening night.

We've got several empty pubs and a large-ish hotel up here in Musselburgh
that could do with the Aero-Grand-Designs makeover team.

If you decide to set up a Fleece chain, put us down for the next one!

Philip

When we took over the venue there were 30, yes THIRTY tribute bands booked.
Many of them had contracts which we're difficult to get out of. We decided
to cancel all non-contracted tribute bands straight away which left about
10
gigs booked through to Dec 2010. There are now 4 left. If you read any
interviews we have always said there will be no tribute band at The Fleece
by the end of the year. Please re-read the sentence below. It says we will
no longer be BOOKING covers or tribute bands.

We have done our utmost to turn the Fleece around. The facebook group has
approaching 2,000 members in just 4 months. Everyone is saying how much the
events list ha improved. We've had literally hundreds of emails from people
thanking us for what we're doing. We've spent the last week painting
everything and fitting a new stage carpet (the first in 15 years!!) ready
for Saturday. We've booked the likes of Killing Joke, Edwyn Collins,
Caitlin
Rose, Stackridge, The Besnard Lakes, Sage Francis, OKGO, 80s Matchbox
B-Line
disaster, Sick Of It All etc etc etc with LOADS more to come.

As I type this I'm covered in paint and carpet glue and dust and completely
knackered (I've just got home from The Fleece). You have no idea how
frustrating it is get criticism that we're not doing enough especially from
the very people who are supposed to be behind us.

For any of you who are not so glass-half-empty please note that we've now
sold 175 tickets and have over 100 on the VIP guest list. Our capacity is
330 so paying on the door can't be guaranteed.
