Wow, haven't seen this kind of activity since the old list.

7" singles are coming back in as their production costs are lower, and
there is definitely a different sound from the music (clicks and pops
aside).

I do wish that a limited number of singles were going to be available for
sale on the website, ahead of the gig. There are a lot of us who can't
make the Brizzol trip and would love to be able to get our claws on the
single. A download would be grand, but at this point, I'm willing to pay
postage.

(And there are some of us who found "25 Kinds Of Love" a *serious*
disappointment but will still listen to the band, so having new material
would be a real plus.)

Singles are physical things, they need to be handled and shipped.
Downloads are easier. But from my perspective, the sound isn't as good.
This is a subjective thing, I know, but I can't listen to MP3's anymore.
The missing sounds gives me an Anticipation Headache.

Bands and labels do make their stuff available for download in lossy (MP3,
MP4, OGG) and lossless (FLAC, APE, AAC) format-- Yep Roc made the most
recent Robyn Hitchcock & The Venus 3 available on FLAC and MP3 as well as
CD.
