It was me wot nabbed Max's and Rita's set lists, and gave one to Abi.
The set list was:
Raise the roof
25 kinds of love (check out the theremin solo!)
Treeful of starlings
Bury your love like treasure
Sulphur
Tied to you
Daughter movie
Lover and confidante
Angela Carter
Jacket hangs
Police (38 Divinity)
Play on empty singer
Warhol's 15
Action painting
Pony boy
--------------
Yr own world
Breaking in my heart
So I have to dispute the nothing from Life Model or Beatsongs claim from
the other NW. But credit to him for starting the dancing off in Phil the
absent's, er, absence.
And well done Chris - we didn't know you were a bassist. Particularly
good work on Police.
I'm listening to the Cheltenham live CD now - it's an excellent quality
recording and the Aeroplanes sound great. I can remember moshing to
Colour Me several times in that era. It's well worth ten pounds of your
Xmas shopping budget. No "Breaking" though!

Yes - it was a good night. The sounds wasn't as good a balance as in
previous years, which may have added to the "hard" sound that Nick
mentioned.
Dave Chapman was on good form, and Ruth Cochrane appeared during about 3
songs to play theremin. Our boy Chris filled in well on bass. Where was
Joe Allen though? He was playing in Rita's backing band (with John
Langley and Gerard Starkey) at the Junction a couple of months back.
Police (38 Divinity) was a bit of a highlight for me, nicely atonal. I
can't understand why they insist on persisting with Treeful of Starlings.
Ok, it may be that the park it was written about is just over the back,
but its a weak song at the best of times and doesn't come over well live
either. Nice to hear Raise the Roof, but the backing vocals were too low
in the mix (not as bad as on the album though!) - if it had been later in
the set it might have sounded better.
Wasn't Pony Boy the last song in the main set and Yr Own World the first
encore? Or was my Bristol Beer Factory endorsed confusion worse than your
Stella haze? Abi nabbed the set list, so hopefully we'll find out.
I thought Rita's song absolutely rocked. Gerard Starkey got a song in
too. Get Rodney back and Gerard L will be able to take half the night off.

That was a good, traditional, Aeros Xmas bash. No Angelo, no Rodney, and
there didn't seem to be as many people there as usual, but those who were
there did have a good time! It was quite a "hard" gig, not much subtlety
but mucho noise and power! Lots of old stuff and some new, nothing from
Life Model or Rough Music though. Or Beatsongs. Probably because no
Angelo. But Wojtek was there, looking fit as usual!
There was NO Death Zone / Moshpit, and only abouy 3 or 4 people danced -
me, PV1, Alan, Ann Sheldon and NW1.
It was Lover & Confidante that set me off - I can't resist that riff!
Set list, as far as I can remember throuth the Stella haze:
Raise The Roof High
Tree Full of Starlings
25 Kinds of Love
Bury Your Love Like Treasure
A New Song
Lover and Confidante
Jacket Hangs
Police (38 Divinity)
Action Painting
Warhol's 15
Probably loads more
Encore 1: Pony Boy
Encore 2: Owls/Who Built This Station in the Midwest/Journal of an Airman
medley. Only kidding! 'Twas Breaking in my Heart, as 'twill ever be.
