Blimey! a mention for the fabtastic Gentle Giant. Multi instrumentalists
the whole band were if my oh so shaky memory serves. Two weeks in Spain
springs immediately to mind. Nice one Trev.

I agree, Kate ! The most underrated band from the
80s is The Church. I `ve followed the band`s career since I heard one of
the
masterpieces on the radio?in 1983 - In an Unguarded Moment. The band is
still creative and making good records.

?

Other bands from the same period that never
got? a big audience - ??Go- Betweens, The Triffids and the
Sound.

Trev,

Have to agree with you on this.

I'm a few years younger than you (but not much at 43)?though and
started going to live shows?in 1980 so the 80s are really my
decade.

But the 70s surely set the tone with the advent of the Sex Pistols, the
Clash (who were a particular favorite of mine) etc.

?

The Church were and still are one of my all time faves.? Have you
  seen Kilbey's blog?

I
have to agree with you Gord - I'm 48 right so the 70's was my era
and
let's face it everyone thinks their era was the best BUT the 70's
were
fantastic. I can't believe that at the turn of the 70's I was
lucky
enough to see Genesis, Jethro Tull, Gentle Giant, Horslips et
al then in
the mid 70's Roxy, Cockney Rebel, Be Bop Deluxe and then
the Pistols,
Clash, The Only Ones, Wire at the tail end. What a
fuckin
    decade!

I don't get this dising of the Harvester album. I think it's
    great -
the band sound really tight (check out the the bass playing) -
    it
sounds live and fresh and great production. Nice one Gerard. The

only track hat doesn't work so well in an Aeros context is the

Barclay james Harvest one. What about a Roy harper song as well eh

Gerard?

Can't have it all though eh? Seeing The Only Ones tonight
    after
seeing them last week in Manchester - what a band!

Oh. and
while we are name dropping great bands - don't forget The
Church
    eh?

Trev
