It was indeed an excellent gig. See Emily Play in the encore with Morris Windsor on stage as always happens at Bristol shows as he lives up the road in Gloucester, then a mass instrument swap like they used to do in the Egyptians days for Listening to the Higsons. Peter Buck on drums! I might have seen 2007's gig of the year already.

Saw Gerard from a distance but didn't speak. He was probably backstage hobnobbing.

Its sad to see the demise of one bit of the Fleece's reputation though. A big Friday night sell-out gig and no ale to be had. True of the last few years its been a choice of Bass or Speckled Hen, neither particularly well kept, but neither was on this time. Had to resort to the (even more) expensive delights of Brothers Pear Cider (Newcastle Brown gives me a hangover) which admittedly went down rather well.

Yeah, it was a great gig, what I remember of it - I was rather refreshed towards the end!

Brilliant and unexpected set list, including The Underneath, Vibrating, QofE, and Television - yes, the "bing a bong!" song, one of his best of recent years, IMO!

My mate Duraid and his mates went for a curry before the gig and lo and behold, Robyn was in the same curry house.

And, briefly back OT, Gerard Langley was there, I exchanged a few words... can't remember what they were, though.

And I met a lovely lady called Sue, but she disappeared before I could take it further. Darn!

Great gig!
