strop:
            1) n a leather strap for sharpening razors (Greek strophos
cord)

                2) adj Brit informal [from obstreperous] Bad tempered
or deliberatly
awkward. Behaving like a spoilt brat, stamping of feet etc.. and coming
across simultaneously like a right prat!

forgive me: i'm american. what is a 'strop'?

and as far as 'official' aeroplanes are concerned, apart from gerard, and
possibly, wjotek, i don't suppose there is really such a thing (or the
obverse is true and, once a 'plane, always a 'plane). more likely the
latter.

til next time, i remain, as ever,

yours in the sweet cleansing light of sacred baby jesus,
