Aha - I noticed a mention of New York in the last post. Does anyone on this
list in fact live there/know it well?
Its just that I'm likely to be over there for a week or so later in the
year, and would like a few tips (good record shops, venues, gigs, other
things to do, etc.). My girlfriend is going to be over there for around 3
weeks (plus Chicago for a week) mid-September to mid-October to do some
research for her PhD and I thought I might as well grab the opportunity of
going over there for part of that time.
Any ideas on places to stay would be useful too - she's been thinking of
sub-letting an apartment, but hasn't got anything sorted yet.
Thanks all (and apologies to all those who this doesn't apply to). Replies
off the list if you like.

That was a particularly potent line for me in the early 90's Kate, the
way things were here for me, so knowing from previous posts that you are in
the way of New York, devastated to know it's relevant to you right now.
Wm's analysii is as good or bad as it gets, but for me Gerards' premis
has always been love, the pain and the glory of it, and taking a side swipe
at anything that takes his fancy along the way, a la Moorcock.
Ann Sheldon's cover for the 'Loved ' EP for instance.
A guy standing on his head, or hanging by a thread, to say ' I love you '
The gal, 'So What ?'
Not really bothered ( see ma face ? ), Art Star from Record Player is the
best thing I've heard since Creedence Cleawater Revival in the early 70's.,
I don't reckon anything from Altitude is new enough to warrant such lofty
comparisons, Wm,, and talking of comparisons, why do people try comparing
Gerard with his peers ?
He has none.
'really sloppy writing today.....'
Love
