Here's a few more with the chords edited out as someone suggested.

Careful Boy

Looking at this world I've made I don't feel there's

Much good in feeling proud today

And when I think of how we talked, how we started out

I feel a little bit less inside

Looking at this careful mess, looking at this room

Nothing ever seems to change

Oh, looking at your photograph

Things were better then, things were all so different then.

You can kick me, you can punch me You can say I speak the truth

You will never, never ever, find out where it hurts.

Oh we were young and free We had things they, they couldn't even dream
about

The fields were the greatest things I ever, ever saw and more

I ever saw in this whole world

All dressed up and no place to go Always somewhere we can't go

You and I just sat down there All we did was sit down there.

And why, never saw, never knew ?

Why, didn't you, didn't you ?

Why, never saw, never knew ?Why ?

The lorries that drive by now keep me awake

They've kept me awake for far too long

Long distance travel wears me out Long distance travel tires me

Their sound is a sound I know too well Every day gets a little longer

Talk talk talk and talk some more You and I just sat down there

All we did was sit down there .And why, never saw, never knew ?Why, didn't
me, didn't you ?Why, never saw, never knew ?Why ?

Different Now

I've tried so hard to make you be happy

I've tried to be what I'm not to be

I felt so silly when I was with you

But when alone, I wished I was with you

I forgot, so sad, that I was sadder for glad

But never ever on the bed you said You didn't care and you wished that I
was
dead.

You used to be pretty one

To be with you used to be such fun

But now you've changed I don't see things about you

Fill up much to be my dreams

Why does inside still think of you ? stupid bliss,

I should be hating you

I forgot I don't feel anything

One fine day I maybe feel the same.

I was the same on the inside

I was the same

So why are you

Why are you being different now ?

Why are you being different now ?

Why are you being different now ?

Why are you being different now ?

But don't forget just because I'm sad

It's only 'cause you've lost that warmth you had

The things that might have fooled me in love with you

Disappeared when it's till them too

But now I've found there's nicer people than you

Now you know why I'm sad, so sad about you

I forgot I don't feel anything

One fine day, I maybe feel the same.

I was the same on the inside, yeah

I was the same

So why are you

Why are you being different now ?Why are you being different now ?Why are
you being different now ?Why are you being different now ?

Disney Head

Well it's time to cloy away another dream

Now I've tripped up and landed on my self-esteem

Well I don't think that I want to but I think that I might need to

More than this - I think I must

You and I, we just sort of grew frightening

Me and you became nothing to everything

What were you thinking when you gave me that ring

What was really on your mind ?

Did you think I'd be different ? Is that what you need ?

I don't understand this, don't understand these games

I don't understand you

I watched the world go by, I watched the aeroplanes

I had a real bad time

Tell me baby, did you understand ?

Did you ever cry ? Cry ? Ooh

Seventeen hours is a long way away from home

Dizzy head, bloody nose and a lot in between

Disney head

Disney head

Disney head

Dizzy head, bloody nose, a lot in between

Disney head

A lot in between

So how can we be close, it's so far away

Your skin touches mine but we're light years away

Sometimes when it's dark, I think you're very near

When the light comes on this is all I hear

When the light comes on this is all I hear.

Growing Up Growing Down

Have a heart child

Roughing is the hard part.

There are worse things than words, you know

But you wouldn't believe it to hear some people talk.

And I will talk to you if I can

And I will talk to you if I can

And if I can, then you can talk to me.

Well, wake me up to go to sleep again

Wake up, there's been a hit-and-run

Broken glass everywhere

Say nothing, it's obvious what's going on here

Say : This street's never been the same since Kennedy died

Have a heart, child

You weren't even born.

There are worse things than words, you know

But you wouldn't believe it to hear some people talk.

So wake up and let me tell you

When are we gonna see the big bright tonight, huh

Say : Now what would it give you the wine and me and water

Have a heart child

Who thinks I'm driving ?

There are worse things than words, you know

But you wouldn't believe it to hear some people talk.

And I will talk to you if I can

And I will talk to you if I can

And if I can, then you can talk to me.

Ah, wake up, wake up to the morning nausea

Wake up to death in life

Wake up to being another mother, child

Say : If this is life give me breakdancing

Say : If this is art give me television

Say, child, do you think we should have a heart to heart ?

There are worse things than words, you know

But you wouldn't believe it to hear some people talk.

And I will talk to you if I can

And I will talk to you if I can

And I will talk to you if I can

And I will talk to you if I can

And if I can, then you can talk to me.

Love Come Round

They say you hurt the ones you love, but I don't think it's true

The ones you love, they're just the most prepared

To be hurt by the things you do.

So why so bitter, sweet thing ?

Why so up in arms ?

It's only your lover's sympathies, his misdirected charms

That keep you angered and upset, that keep you in alarm

But I see it's still your practice to hold him in your arms.

Love come round and let me see

That a love unbound is a dangerous territory

Love come round and let me know

That a love unbound won't let you go.

Now, your hair is like my lover's hair

Your style is like her style

When you smile, your eyes are hers

Yeah, when she used to smile

Your hips are like my lover's hips

Your lips are like hers when she grins

But your skin is like no other skin

I've ever felt or ever will.

Love come round and...

Well I woke up this morning

I walked around the corner to this little cafe

Yeah, suddenly, love came round the corner and hit me

Look out, look out, look out, look out !

Well, there are a thousand questions you could ask me

But you only need one question to pin love in a lie

Yeah, you should know what love is when it looks you in the eye

When it looks you in the eye.

Love come round and...

Cracking Idea Chris

Song: Detective Song

Album : Rough Music

Hazard Lights, Triangles

Those are someone's feelings

Strewn all over the road

Another person waves your hand

It's a Cat-show in winter

That exhibition's behind us

A new shape, intending to be the last

In the heart of it, In the heart of it

You try to see round it

Well, look at you

What's going wrong? What's going wrong?

Well if you want to be a kite

Get wound into your hand and let go

Easily anchored to the earth

Want me around, Want me around

World Nil, space one

It doesn't exist

But you live there anyway

You won, you won

It's like being in a book

Have a look at it, immaculate

When you find a clue

Drop me to earth and leave me articulate on

Detective Song, detective song

You're bad for a part

Sub machine-ex and kingfisher-blue

Westron wynde and total minus three

Look at the love you gave to me

Look at it, look at it

Run, jump, sing, shout

Fighting Cock in a sandy pit

What's going on?, what's going on?

If everyone on this forum wrote out the lyrics to just one song each

you could have all the lyrics to all the songs in about 5 minutes!

Then they are all here for us to share too. Someone could even gather

them up and put them on the lyrics sites on the web. Shouldn't be too

hard to organise. Here's my contribution to kick things off:

Song: What It Is

Album: Swagger

Watch these hands

Watch what they're doing

What is it?

They float around the neck like nervous birds

They circle the waist like sly torpedoes

Then they hike into the interior

You know how it is

You can be your enemy

Turns a sideways figure of eight

Oh we've each got our positions in this exchange of views

This oratory, this debate

You know, I think one of us should drink the other to tears

Well alcohol it composes to water

You know there's not much to it

The last part was nothing less than the same as the first

Your dark eyes, your blue eyes

Your dark eyes, your blue eyes

Oh memory's a house under rain

The morning was bright

I met your train

A haze of perception brought buildings closer and sounds from further

away

I watched a kiss on private ground

And a phone box demolished by mistake

Just watch it explode

Yeah I know, I know, I know

He doesn't want you to speak

He's not sure if he even wants you to breathe

And if he says you're not gonna last a week without him

It's only what he wants you to believe

These lovers

You ask them to go, they won't come back

You ask them to stay, they won't go away

The morning was evening, train was a bus, it was dull, dull, dull

You've got something to tell me?

I can taste it

I can taste it

I know what it is

My cds a re back in England (I'm based in Switzerland!) and I only

have the songs on my laptop and ipod. I remember the lyrics were

printed on Swagger. Maybe you can double check these just to make

sure I didn't mis-hear anything!

BTW you should find the applicant easily on the web as it is a well

know poem by someone else
