Get it into your head
There's no more, and that's a fact
We're trying to engage in other pursuits; wilder moments, and better
versions of the act
I've seen you dressed in armour
I've seen you get undressed
I know I shouldn't want to possess you, but should you want to be
possessed?
Ah, that slightly hoarse laugh -
Too much whisky and cigarettes
Recalling every line in detail, bar none, come complete with awkward pauses
Say no more, I can manage it
I can manage it, but just can't imagine it
Treat it as a good thing; just remember that it's gone
Not only that, but remember it was unsuitable and wrong
And true love is just a big absence, and nothing to ask for
Remember there's no music, but music is yours
With our daily checks on fortune how can we believe,
Believe in anything else?
Say goodbye to tripping out your old dreams.
Hey, let's discover what it's all about
Let's drink up each other
In the guise of 'going out'
Spitting out miracles

Edit this, please, someone.
Daughter Movie
Saw a movie
must be 'cause it moved
moved all around me
all I could hear was my future daughter
with a high, feedback sound
huh, surrounded by sun
and laughter
Last week I was wearing a suite
but heaven knows where that picture went
I wish you were chasing my blood round my system
I wish your clouds were raining in my cloud
Thanks for the conversation piece
my own luck to find the baby in the reeds
I'm not sure I can win them back
turn around
come here
Now we, not being used to letters
we say too much
in person's better but the phone's over the tracks
it's broken and we're not here
otherwise we'd talk
genuinely
Now you know i'm feeling ( hot ? )
I am
It is
There's a Mexican baby bothering me as i sit here writing this
he keeps pulling on my shoestrings
but what can I say
This is very sloppy writing today
for some reason i'm quite shakey
I don't feel nervous
I wonder what it is
Yesterday I went to Hollywood to buy a neon plane
It was hard to be there again, seeing all the places we'd been
the plane's being made as i write this
it should be with you in three to four weeks
it's ninety for the plane and eighty for the shipping
now does that make any sense ?
PS Dear Other
I would like to see you again
it's still not too late to be rained on by the same cloud
I am that cloud I should not be aloud
can you hear this ?
Or am I too loud ?

If everyone on this forum wrote out the lyrics to just one song each you
could have all the lyrics to all the songs in about 5 minutes! Then they
are all here for us to share too. Someone could even gather them up and
put them on the lyrics sites on the web. Shouldn't be too hard to
organise. Here's my contribution to kick things off:
Song: What It Is
Album: Swagger
Watch these hands
Watch what they're doing
What is it?
They float around the neck like nervous birds They circle the waist like
sly torpedoes Then they hike into the interior You know how it is You
can be your enemy Turns a sideways figure of eight Oh we've each got our
positions in this exchange of views This oratory, this debate You know,
I think one of us should drink the other to tears
Well alcohol it composes to water
You know there's not much to it
The last part was nothing less than the same as the first Your dark
eyes, your blue eyes Your dark eyes, your blue eyes Oh memory's a house
under rain The morning was bright I met your train A haze of perception
brought buildings closer and sounds from further away I watched a kiss
on private ground And a phone box demolished by mistake
Just watch it explode
Yeah I know, I know, I know
He doesn't want you to speak
He's not sure if he even wants you to breathe And if he says you're not
gonna last a week without him It's only what he wants you to believe
These lovers You ask them to go, they won't come back You ask them to
stay, they won't go away The morning was evening, train was a bus, it
was dull, dull, dull You've got something to tell me?
I can taste it
I can taste it
I know what it is
My cds a re back in England (I'm based in Switzerland!) and I only have
the songs on my laptop and ipod. I remember the lyrics were printed on
Swagger. Maybe you can double check these just to make sure I didn't
mis-hear anything!
BTW you should find the applicant easily on the web as it is a well know
poem by someone else
