Thanks. I ought to make it clear that in a cottage the size of ours, when The Fall are in, it's kind of desirable to like them. If you take my point.

I got some Tartini for Xmas, Biber's rosary sonatas and an old Piano Magic CD.

I am a little puzzled why I find it so bad, The Fall, but I think it is probably something to do with the incredibly repetitive and relentless riffing.

Aha! If you don't like The Fall, you don't like them, and that's it. For those who understand, no explanation is necessary, for thos who don't, no explanation is possible, sort of things.

The "incredibly repetitive and relentless riffing" is, for many, one of the main attractions.

I'm not going to recommend ten tracks, because it would do no good. If I were you I'd just shrug, mentally file The Fall under one of those bands you just don't like, and listen to stuff you DO like. Happened to me with Talking Heads, people going on about them all the time, but I never could get into them.

Similiarites between The Fall and the BAs are well noted round these quarters. Not so much the music, but more the set-up: the dominating, genius frontman backed by a set of ever-changing band members (more so in the Fall's case, as Mark E. Smith is the sole original member).

That Peel box set, by the way, is the best thing ever released in any format EVER.
