Sorry Lisa - but I am a HUGE Hitchcock fan from way back.
Seen him many, many times (even interviewed him back in my radio days -
what fun that was - he was brilliant!)
Last saw him in November of '04.
Took vacation from work to follow the Soft Boys reunion tour for a bit a
few years ago.
Solo - with the Egyptians - with the Soft Boys, I'd say I'd seen him
over 30 times by now.

And Kate... I want you to know that after I went offline last night, all I
could bloody hear in my head was "lack of involvement with the father or
over involvement with the mother can result in lack of ability to relate a
sexual peeeeeak..." And you KNOW its impossible to only sing a little bit
of that song in your head so I had to keep starting from the beginning
over
and over and over again - and I can't bloody STAND Robyn Hitchcock! ;o) I
only know a few of the songs coz I had a mate once who insisted on putting
them on compilation tapes for me in the hope I'd grow to like him!

Me:

You can't stand Robyn Hitchcock?!?! Say it ain't so! One of the great
British underground mavericks, perversely more popular in the States now
than over here. I reckon there is probably quite a bit of crossover
between
Planes fans and Hitchcock fans (Nick W who posts here is, but if I
remember
rightly PV2 doesn't share this enthusiasm!)

He's playing at the Fleece Thursday 26th Jan, and I can't wait!
