Probably better to buy in the shops.  Then the purchase will register for 
the charts and will definately show up on the record company figures.  The 
more they sell through the shops, the more the shops will order and the more 
likely we are to get more releases of new and old material.  Not really sure 
how gig sales are accounted, but they certainly don't count towards the 
chart.  Could be that the band will make more out of gig sales though?
