.....don't think Bagpipe Music is a 'prog rock' artefact m'self....far too
much humour for that. It's a piece of radical rock'n'roll. Some of it is a
little naff and ponderous, and the work of a relatively immature poetic
voice
methinks - our Greatest Living Englishman soon gave up trying to reinvent
WH
Auden in favour of setting Auden's work to wicked music and developing
further
his own approach....but on the whole Bagpipe Music is an absolute cracker
and
no mistake....I'm old enough to have bought it the first Saturday it was
on
sale and still remember my best bud telling me I'd get bored with
it...could
still happen I suppose....
Got home from work today and my 13 year old daughter is playing
guitar....'Veils of Colour' & 'Whatever Happened to Our Golden Birds' &
'Your
Ages'....now, how cool is that!? I'm bringing my babbies up proper see....
peace & love
DrDx
