The Planes on the Radio

Well, Gerard still hasn't got back to me on the radio interview, but I'd thought I'd let y'all know that I'll be playing an Aeroplanes track on the show on Tuesday evening anyway. The show runs from 7 until 10 pm (British Summer Time for those abroad), on 87.7 FM in the Bristol area (although it can be a tad tricky to pick up sometimes) or via the internet www.kuteradio.com
I'm going to be a bit coy about which track I'm going to play as its part of a competition, but safe to say that you lot will all know the answer to this part of it, I thought I'd let you know.
There will be a lot of other Bristol bands on the show this week, as its Ashton Court festival this weekend (again for those of you not familiar with our fair city - we have a fabulous open air festival in a beautiful park every year with loads of bands at which the 'Planes have played many times - indeed it was the first place I ever saw them!) so I'll be playing tracks by a lot of the bands who are playing there.
A couple of people have been posting attachments of old articles and flyers and stuff recently. Well, I won't be doing that quite yet (no scanner!) but I did come across a couple of old Ashton Court Festival programmes (1988 and 1989) which featured both the 'Planes and Rodney Allen. Only a single paragraph biog on each, but if brought back a few memories of long gone and almost forgotten Bristol bands.
I'll quit waffling now. Tune in Tuesday!
