Re: Let's Buy Swagger Appeal

You're right to be cautious - we want to help Gerard to realise a dream,
not
to pay his rent. This is why I asked for a straw poll to my own email
address.

Still, if wishes were...(what's that saying?) Anyway, assuming everyone
keeps to their promise, in one day we've raised half the cash already.
Pretty damn encouraging I'd say. Let's see what the weekend brings.
Anyone
else want a piece of it? Pledge your cash to:

maybe it ends up being £600 and not the full £1000 - if it's not enough to
buy Swagger outright & he doesn't have the remainder at his disposal right
then ... might it go towards paying the light bill with the intention that
the fund would be repaid eventually? .. In other words .. say you want to
buy a new TV set - and your grandma gives you 40 bucks towards it .. well
that's not gonna get it - and right now, buying groceries is more essential
& it will be awhile before you can get the rest of what you need to buy the
TV anyway - so eventually, you WILL get the TV, but you have to start
saving
all over again... so did grandma actually help?

details to me but before I step over a line and potentially annoy the man
with half-assed charitable intentions, I want to make sure I'm speaking on
behalf of serious, committed folks who can spare a little cash. So, I'd
like everyone who's up for this to email me personally, off-list, and
confirm your pledge. Even if you've already spoken up, just confirm to me
and I'll compile it all. I like Howard's suggestion of £25 chunks, but
whatever you want to pledge will be great - remember, it's off-list, so
don't feel pressured into pledging more than you'll ever be able to stump
up. This is not bravado, this is serious! Now don't you all want to give
something back to the chap who has given us so much great music?
