Other bands

  • Subject: Other bands

I was a radio DJ in Spain during the eighties so some of us share
something
else beside a common love for the BA's. Here next would be a sample of
what would be one of my radio sessions (well, some of these bands did not
exist during the eighties...: -( ) This is music that still influences
me
and I still hear. Unfortunately I feel like a dinosaur waiting for
Spielberg to rescue me from oblivion:

Jazz Butcher of course (whom I had the privilege to see on their last gig
ever, or so they said, at Wetlands in NYC this year)
The Weather Prophets and Peter Astor.
Strangelove
XTC
The Jam, Paul Weller and Style Council
And Also The Trees
Pale Fountains
Aztec Camera
Railway Children
Dislocation Dance
Martin Stephenson
The Times
Television Personalities
The Church, Steve Kilbey and Marty Wilson-Piper
The Go-Betweens
The Saints
Radio Birdman
Souxie and the Banshees
Adam and The Ants and the B-Sides
The Damned
Madness
The Dream Syndicate
Television
The Men They Couldn't Hang
The Fleshtones
Fra Lippo Lippi
The Apartments
The Waterboys
The Chameleons and Mark Burgess
Gruppo Sportivo
Evan Lurie
Durutti Column
Isabelle Antenna
Anna Domino
The Celibate Rifles.......

... my God I could go on for ever... This is such a difficult question...

I apologyze for letting myself go in this anachronistic moment, I've just
had an eighties flashback!!

>What other music do you lot like? Do we only have the 'planes in common?
