Almost as off putting as the colour (painted by Ann
apparently) - now you wouldn't wear them down to Safeways
on a Sunday afternoon would you!
>Nora seemed very drunk!
Now there is something of a pattern emerging here. I met
her at Leeds and she kindly passed on a Life Model CD that
I needed. It was only about 8.00 and she said she was
feeling a bit pissed as she couldn't take her ale very well
(she was on her second pint!). During the gig I stood near
her and we were both having a good old bop (being very
careful not to spill anyones pint :)) She seemed ok but
then all of a sudden (just after the gig) I saw her and she
was passed out upstairs in the dressing room (don't mean to
sound rock 'n' roll luvvy here - I was just there ok!).
Totally hammered, zonked and ker-plonk.
Now I don't want to cause any offence at all - this is
supposed to be funny (because it was). I went over and
poked her a bit but there was no movement so decided to
leave her and go downstairs to join discussions with other
BA's down there. Too many late nights already it seems.
To my amazement, about half an hour later, Nora is up and
supping lager like she is in the desert with 10 minutes to
last orders. The most amazing case of second wind I have
ever seen. For one with a low tolerance to alcohol, she was
putting them away faster than the barman could serve
(forgive a slight exaggeration). Good effort I say. But I
must say, she did look rather pissed to me when I left (and
that is coming from a man who left because he was rather
pissed).
Nora, if you are reading this when you get home, I hope I
have not upset you by broadcasting your drunken behaviuor
at BA gigs. You are a star and we all owe you a favour for
putting on the web site and all. Looks as though you may
need some time in a drying out clinic though!
Good on her I say
