Thought I'd just record a few thoughts re last night:
Great of course to see them again (it's been quite a while for me), with
Gerard not looking quite as ravaged as other 'listers' had led me to
believe. And I want me a pair of them trews! Rodney's really mastered the
art
of the Brando ciggy style as well, hasn't he?
Glad that Wojtek's missus let him out - he certainly hasn't lost that
sense
of navigation that allows him to weave through a swarm of guitars without
so
much as a bruised plectrum. Longer sideburns, but still the same fluidity
of
dance.
Excellent to see Richard Bell up there for the grand finale - I expect
he's
still teaching, and he certainly looks the part, but all those evenings of
marking have kept his strumming muscles in trim. He definitely made a more
than marginal contribution to the sound as well.
Overall I have to say that I didn't think the guitars really came together
all the time, but I'm happy to leave the final judgement on that to the
string-pluckers amongst you. Needless to say, there's nowhere else on the
planet I'd rather have been!

I should at this point do my bit on the apologies front: my only previous
foray into the list was to have a go at PH for his spelling. That
unjustified
attack was brought on by incipient influenza and I apologise humbly and
unreservedly.

To those about to Bristol - I salute you.
Andrew
