Good afternoon everybody,
Just so as I don`t feel left out, I`d like to stake my claim to an
extensive Bristol heritage, despite my current East European location.
I`m a friend of a friend of an ex-member of the band, and hence got into
the
band during their exhaustive touring regime prior to the release of
Swagger.
Ashton Court Festival news - This year it is on the weekend of the 15th
July. I`m hoping for an Aeroplanes appearance, as it could be my last
opportunity to see them for some time.
Two of the best performances I have ever seen have been at this
large-but-small community festival - Portishead played there a couple of
years back and were absolutely stunning, and the Aeroplanes headlined
there
about 10 (!) years back. As last act on, with perfect weather and a crowd
in
the palm of their collective hand they just played and played and played -
they only stopped when a heart broken Gerard announced to an equally
heartbroken audience that they had played every single song that they knew
as a band.
Them were the days............
Phill......
