Got to agree with Andrew on this one. I go to a lot of gigs but it's a long
time since I've looked forward to one as much as this and it delivered on
all counts.

The surprise was how busy it was. Not sure if there were many folk from far
and wide but given that there weren't much more than a hundred at the last
Glasgow show, it looked like it might have been close to double that number
although I'm not sure how busy it was at the back.

The big difference from the last Glasgow gig was Wojtek (oh and the fact
that two thirds of the set was different from that night!) which makes it
all the more disappointing that he won't be in Glasgow tonight. We managed 
a
few words with the legend afterwards but apparently he's prioritising work
in Bristol on Monday!

It could only have been better if I'd remembered my earplugs - it was loud
and the ears are still a bit stunned today. Not forgetting them tonight.

Took two friends along for their first Aeros gigs. 

One had done a bit of YouTube research and was looking forward to it a lot.
We've seen dozens of shows together in the last few years but he reckoned
that it was the best one we'd been at.

The other hadn't heard much since back in the day and is notoriously harder
to please. But he loved it.  Both bought the album afterwards.

Which kind of makes the point that a lot of folk have made about the new
record - it will win new fans/bring back old fans - if people hear it.

Got some decent photos but I'm planning on sorting these properly tomorrow
along with any from Glasgow for a review on the blog of both gigs. In the
meantime, there's some (mainly phone) pics on my Twitter @manicpopthrlls

She was a burlesque dancer! Or so said "robin Guthrie's brother" who was
flogging their merchandise at half time. That said though, what a wonderful
gig! New stuff sounded absolutely mint. Dead tree got everything going
beautifully. Nothing ever happens in the future was awesome as were and
stones and what it is. But the whole was triumphant. I've never looked
forward to a show this much and never been so impressed. Smiled from ear to
ear all through. Just scintillating. Thanks.
