Re: Tour Line Up / Anti-Gravity

So why the lack of popularity (ie. can't sell out King Tuts) of the Blue
Aeroplanes in Glasgow ?
I saw the Beatsongs and Life Model era gigs at King Tuts. The Beatsongs
tour was pretty jammed from what I can remember as the band were riding on
the crest of a wave. The Life Model tour had Sleeper and A House on the
bill so this would have definitely helped sell tickets.
I was at the Gerard gig for Record Player at king Tuts. Again there were 3
or 4 support bands but when Gerard and his band came on everyone seemed to
bugger off and they played to a virtually empty room. Don't think the
Planes or Gerard have been through Glasgow since then.
So I guess graphically speaking on a curve it's been a downward spiral for
the Planes in Glasgow. .
If the Planes were going to try different venues in Glasgow how about The
Arches (saw John Grant here last year) or Broadcast on Sauchiehall St
(think this is owned by promoters PCL who tend to get very cool acts ).
A trend I've noticed is for a double / triple header of bands from the
same era going out on tour together. The thing is who would be the bands
that the Planes could tour with? And would they ever consider being a
support act again to play to new and bigger audiences?
