I too have heard Gerard say that at a couple of gigs. In Simon's defence,
the lyric is "there must be 50 ways to leave your lover" - not "there are"
or "I know of". It is just a shame that Gerard lost the words to 50 Ways
that he wrote with the full fifty that he said would have made a prog-rock
length version.

But I'll make do with 'The Boy In The Bubble' - which is the song I heard
on GWR that got me into the Blue Aeroplanes in the first place.

Cheers Matthew

This is not the first time Paul Simon's maths has been called into
question. As Gerard often points out he did a song called 50 Ways To Leave
Your Lover which actually only contained 7 ways in the lyrics so he wrote
25 Kinds Of Love which actually has 25 (count them!).
Hey, just realised we'll be doing The Boy I The Bubble as it's on
Beatsongs. Happy days!!

Last year Paul Simon did a 25th Anniversary tour for Graceland which was
released in 1986 (although the Graceland tour was in 1987) - but this is
even better 20th Anniversary of an album released in 1991?

Anyway great news as Beatsongs is my all time favourite 'Planes album. I
think I have three copies already (CD, Cassette, LP) so the deluxe version
will be added to my collection. I bought the cassette in Woolworths in
Sydney so the Planes made it all the way to Australia.
