That's great news, a CD with bonus tracks sounds fantastic, and speaking for
myself I don't feel the need to be "appeased." !
I *still* haven't got my record player fixed so haven't got round to getting
Anti-Gravity yet. I should pull my finger out, lazy git that I am.
Good luck with the Fleece, I know what you mean about the 7 Stars, trouble
is it is a fantastic pub which does loads of real ale real cheap. You have a
hard job on yer hands!

Subject: [BluePlanes] Hold Steady!
We did a cover of a Hold steady song for the new album but it didn't make
the final cut.
Since Gerard has been made head of dept at BIMM he just doesn't seem to have
any free time these days. This is the single biggest reason for the delay in
releasing the album on CD. I'm also doing up to 16 hours per day at The
Fleece trying to make it work (we're still not quite breaking even - mainly
due to everyone drinking in the pub next door! - but that's a whole new
debate).
Gerard mentioned putting out the album as a double CD with an outtakes bonus
like with the Swagger Deluxe release. (The Hold Steady song would make it on
to the bonus CD). I think this would be a great idea as it would go some way
towards appeasing everyone who has had to wait for so long and also because
I think some of the tracks which didn't make the final cut are great.
Obviously I can't give you any idea of time scale but can only assure you
that it's in hand. It makes sense to get a label behind the band and do the
CD release properly rather than getting Sam to burn a load of copies and
then just flogging them at gigs and through the website.
For now all I can ask is that you are bear with us. The band will deliver in
the end and it will be worth the wait (I said this about the album in
general and there have been few complaints from those who have heard it)
Apologies for my lack of posts recently but I hardly get any time at all
these days and I don't want to appear rude if i don't reply to any questions
that come up.
Can't wait for the gig in 3 weeks time. 117 tickets sold already (Fiddlers
pre-sales are usually on about 50 at this stage). Is this due to the
publicity surrounding the new album? The Fleece's fab marketing? Or maybe
just cos it's £10 adv / £15 on the door!!
Who knows.
Chris
