okay - I have now got a reasonable sounding audacity file - the only snag 
is when I convert it to wav it sounds as if gerrard is gargling and all 
the others have jumped in the pool without unplugging .. not good :-(

As I said earlier ... ( and the good old big brother mail scanner bumped 
my email back because I'd used the word P....d)  ... I don't think it 
would be right to start handing out cd's - certainly not fair to the 
aeroplanes ..... I'm giving my wrestling with technology a rest for a 
while - more updates when I have beaten audacity into submission ...... 
probably tomorrow ....
