Hi Chris, from the East Shore.
How about we turn your 'analogy' on it's head.
In an effort to challenge for control, the
digitalisedmp3spoiltbratgeneration, spills milk in the lap of the nascent
hero.
Why don't you fly over and get a copy. You will feel much better, and
it would be good to meet you again.
I am sending doc a copy, I know he has love enough for all formats to sort
you all out on the West Shore, but, of course, forswear responsibility.
G
PS Had to look up the spelling of forswear in an old, paper, dictionary.

Agreed. I'm a Stateside Brummie. I can't get past the feeling that it's an
intentional slap in the face for the decades I've supported the band. You
know, my two-year-old sometimes does things I don't like him to do, daring
me to take action. This morning, he looked me squarely in the face, and
then poured milk in my lap. On purpose.
I've watched Super Nanny though. And it turns out I'm not supposed to
encourage this behaviour. He's testing me, you see. If I let him, he'll
pour milk in my lap every morning, because it's fun to have control. But
he's looking for boundaries, so he can learn how to navigate the world for
himself. I'm supposed to tell him that pouring milk in my lap is
inappropriate.
You see where I'm going with this analogy, right?

This is the question of the hour, especially for those of us who are

I don't really care what the format is-- I know people with turntables,
and I can suss out some sort of ripping scheme. Technical issues aren't
interesting.
I am more interested in the business decision behind this choice-- there's
a deliberate wall that's being thrown up here. I'm not decrying it, but
the format choice is an obstacle, and it smells a bit suicidal on the
commercial front, provided that's the only source of income for the band.
I guess the Fleece is doing well enough where Gerard can offer a
vinyl-only release. Pretty good going in the UK economy, I'd think.

How do I get hold of a copy without going to the gigs? Unfortunately, I
can't make either of them.
