competition
As Chris has said, on the back of all the recent activity Gerard
has been invited onto Gideon Coe's BBC 6music show next Wednesday (17th)
for an hour or so's chat between 9 and 10pm. He'll be playing a few
Aeros tunes (old and new) and a few of his own personal favourites as
well, drawn from a shortlist (6 of each) that he's sent over to the BBC
in advance (if that's not giving away too many trade secrets...)
Naturally, while I was waiting for the shortlist I (nerdily)
drew up my own list of 6 Aeros tunes that I would have chosen to play
had it been me. And I wasn't far off. So here's the competition:
Everyone reply to the list with their own 6 choices.
The entry that is closest to Gerard's 6 gets a copy of 'China
Brilliance Automotive' on 7" from me; if you win and you've bought it
already, you can barter your prize for a drink of your choice from me at
Fiddlers, unless Chris wants to offer something else.
Terms and conditions do not apply, and no clues except that, as
above, the shortlist of six consists of both old and new material.
Employees of the BBC are NOT prohibited from entering.
In the event of a tie, there will be a playoff in which entrants
will be invited to guess a tune that is on his other shortlist of
'personal faves' - which will be nigh-on impossible. So it will probably
have to come down to a coin toss, or a fist fight.

What a fantastic event. We even broke our bar record despite the free
guest bar!

> First off, Gerard will be doing a 40 min interview with Gideon
Coe on BBC 6 music on Wed 17th November around 21.10 - 21.50pm.

> Second, John Stapleton has confirmed as DJ for the Fiddlers
gig on Dec 3rd. Expect a very different set from the launch night. (We
wouldn't want to bore you!!)

> Thirdly, I have booked Gerard and Rodney to do their first
acoustic duo act for years when they play at at The Fleece on Wed 8th
Dec supporting legendary American band Cracker. The Cracker show is a
duo version of the band famous for their platinum selling 1993 album
"Kerosene Hat". Singer David Lowery is also the front man of Camper Van
Beethoven and he is joined by Cracker founder Johnny Hickman. More info
