I'll be coming across from Sussex.  It'll be my third Fiddlers gig 
(although I did turn up for the gig that never happened four or five years 
ago).

 

I think it is important to see this, not as a visit to Bristol, but a 
visit to Bedminster, an area which, I think it is safe to say, has its own 
unique atmosphere.

 

Fiddlers, itself, is a thoroughly pleasant place to spend an evening.  It 
is in an odd L-shape, with the stage on the outside 'elbow' but and the 
bar on the inside corner. I, however, will probably arrive around 10, 
having been to a series of unremittingly grim boozers in the surrounding 
area.

 

A Fiddlers Aeroplanes gig really is nothing like seeing them anywhere 
else. One of the main reasons is that the set list is likely to be 
determined, even more than ususal, by the line-up, which is likely to 
include some cameo appearances.

 

On getting into the venue, I will be checking to see whether a number of 
Rickenbackers are on stage, normally a fair indication that Old Rodders is 
making an appearance!
