Yeah,
The altercation at the end was really odd. It was like, "i'm going to
stand right at the front and then get shirty if you dance near me." Funny
though.

But as well as a bit of fighting I also saw some love in the air at the
end ….
I also thought the sound mix was good and loud – must be difficult.
Strangely the sound was a lot worse when I went down to the ‘mosh pit’ for
Breaking… Not the busiest mosh pit I’ve ever encountered though.
New songs sound really great straight away and loved the early tracks that
were played esp. Action Painting.
Gerard did a full band introduction – but must think family doesn’t need a
mention as I’m sure he missed out his brother John on drums?!!
For those that couldn’t make it – although I’m not so good with
remembering names but I’ll have a go at the full line-up: (please feel
free to correct this)
Gerard – words + shades + arm actions
(and clockwise onstage)
Wojtek – full body actions
Max Nobel – lead guitar + tiger skin Marshall stack amp
Chris Sharp – bass
Some bloke on drums – who is actually the real star and was f’in
excellent!!!
Dave Chapman – guitar + mandolin (?) - return of a favourite
Julian Poole – more big guitar
Last but not least Rita Lynch – even more big guitar and those important
vocals
-apologises if I’m wrong.
Top night out.

!! at least one of those two geezers was bbc phil of this parish. Some
misguided chap who hadn't been to a gig in a long time, certainly not an
aeros gig, & hadn't had the rules explained to him saw fit to stand right
at the front - without moving a muscle. This was always destined to be a
short-lived experiment especially once 'breaking...' started up. Anyway he
looked dimly on the antics of mr hendry but swiftly had the error of his
ways pointed out to him.

set-listAngela Carter was a feminist novelist, around in the 1970s. Wrote
a series of stories in which fairy tales were subverted. Something of
hers was turned into a film - Company of Wolves? Yeah, a good gig. Have
to agree that the line-up does impact on the choice of songs and,
inevitably, the sound. Tend to prefer the more folky and poppy stuff.
One of the new songs sounded very good. Who were the two geezers about to
start a fight during Breaking...? Rock and roll!

set-listNo - it's not the same Angela carter as the Jack Frost one. What
a record Snow Job is...
Really enjoyed the Planes last night but not close to some of the gigs
I've seen them do. But it's just great that they are still going. The
line up makes a difference and Rodders and Angelo take it up several
notches - but hey, it was a good night and looking forward to Fiddlers
where I can get hammered and mosh with Hendry.

Woah, woah, WOAH. Hold on a sec.
The set list says “Angela Carter”
Is this the same “Angela Carter” that appears on the criminally-underrated
Jack Frost Snow Job disc?
If so, I am kicking myself for smuggling myself to the UK in a crate
labeled “MEDICAL SUPPLIES”.
