What a line up! Anyone within striking distance of Bristol should and MUST
attend this gig. I saw the Fiddlers gig that Angelo played with the
aeroplanes a few years back - he adds another dimension to a lot of songs
('...and stones' is never as good without him) and turned one of my least
favourite aeroplanes songs (Frightened At Night) into something magical
with a song-long bluesy solo of utter genius. Add to that an appearance
from Rodders, some 'Spitting...' era thrills from Dave Chapman, and Gerard
S., who I feel has injected a lot of energy back into the aeroplanes as a
live unit since he joined, and you have something excellent from most
aeroplanes eras................. which, of course, makes it particularly
galling that I am stuck in Slovakia with no possible way of attending.
Arse, Double-Arse, Bollocks, Bugger, Shite.
Any forms of bootlegging would be VERY gratefully received...
(including the hi-tech 'mosh-o-rama' format, where half way through
'Jacket Hangs', a 'virtual' hammered NW slams into you, spilling your
drink, before almost getting into a fight with a bloke whose girlfriend he
has inadvertantly flattened. I get a nostalgic tear in my eye just
thinking about it...)
Have a marvellous evening all,

Did I hear mention of Rodders being in the line-up? Smart! I could do
with a good jingly-jangly version of Fun! The only time I've been to
Fiddlers must have been for the 2004 gig and I missed out on the dubious
cider venue - must get there this time! Is there any news on the
set-list? Will they be going classic and opening with Razorwalk?

Abi,
a word of warning - if previous years are anything to go by, don't get
there too early. Chris S may be able to tell us what time they are due on
stage, but previously it's been 10pm or later. There will be several of
us drinking before that though, I'm sure, especially those avoiding dodgy
cider houses.

Oh my oh my....am I excited?....erm....yes :) It's all coming together, I
have told my undergrads that they have to survive in the lab without me, I
have organised a floor to kip on, I have washed and ironed my BA t-shirt
and I just need to book my train ticket (prob Monday). If you see a
slightly shy looking person standing on her own, it's likely to be me.
Come over and say hello, I don't bite (much) and am looking forward to
putting some faces to names. Ooooooooo!
Abi
