I've just re-read what I posted and I can't believe how crap the writing
is!
Not mine, of course (perish the thought!), but whoever in EMI's
marketing
department writes this guff. The apostrophe in "demo's" is almost
exclusable as demo is an odd abbreviation anyway, but "critically
acclaimed"
twice in one sentence, plodding writing, no spark at all. Where is the
hyperbole? "Great music", "the right balance" - surely they could do
better
than that?! You're supposed to be trying to make people go out (well, get
on their computers) and buy it! Its just rubbish.

Rant over.

Subject: [BluePlanes] Beatsongs and Friendloverplane 2 re-releases
Date: Thu, 27 Sep 2007 16:18:49 +0000

EMI have just announced the re-releases of Beatsongs and Friendloverplane 2
(well, I got an sales promotion e-mail from EMI today) but they are for
download only - no physical release this time. Swagger Deluxe can't have
sold well enough I guess.

Here's what they say:

The Blue Aeroplanes
Beatsongs
The follow-up to the critically acclaimed Swagger, Beatsongs offers more
great music, with songs by this critically acclaimed band from the Bristol
art-rock scene of the 90's. Excellently put together with the right balance
between intensity and and laid back, Beatsongs has now includes singles
versions and mixes of album tracks, as well as non-album b-sides. Available
as a digital download only.

The Blue Aeroplanes
Friendloverplane 2
More Bristol art-rock and this time it is a collection of non album
b-sides,
mixes, remixes, demo's and just plain oddities from the Ensign released
period of the band's Swagger and Beatsongs albums. Available as a digital
download only.

There is also the 3rd Strangelove album:
Strangelove
Strangelove
Their third album for Food Records with Patrick Duff as lead vocalist and
writer, featuring the singles Greatest Show On Earth, Freak, and
re-recorded
version of the album track Another Night In. Now available as a digital
download.

There are links on the EMI e-mail for downloading from iTunes and Windows
Media. If you want me to forward the actual EMI e-mail to you then e-mail
me and I'll forward individually (I got into trouble for posting it last
time - sorry again Steve!), but there really isn't a lot to see, and it
might not work from Hotmail anyway.
