a load of pony...
- Subject: a load of pony...
- From: phillmerchant at hotmail.com (Phill Merchant)
- Date: Fri, 27 Apr 2007 08:28:16 +0000
The notes from Friendloverplane 2 (if memory serves...) said something
about
'Pony Boy' having been originally written/sung(?) by a woman, but that he
(Gerard) hadn't bothered changing the gender in the lyrics because
"sometimes it's more fun that way" or other, similar ambiguous
naughtiness... Can anyone confirm this or otherwise, and how does this sit
with the latest theories as to the meaning of the phrase. Personally, I'm
surprised nobody's mentioned "being hung like a...", but then maybe you're
all just too polite.
I know I am.
Phill...........
PS: Wasn't 'The Adventures of the Blue Aeroplanes - fighting injustice
with
their three-pronged guitar assault' in (long-forgotten music weekly)
'Sounds'...?
Christ, I'm old.
