I've always imagined this creature to be one of those 80s yuppie types
besporting a pony tail, a lot of flashness and wealth, allied with
considerable insincerity and shallowness, particularly when it comes to
the
ladies. We used to call them "wankers", if I remember well. The pony
tail-wearing fashion in men was roundly ridiculed in an episode of "Only
Fools and Horses" and it can only be a coincidence that it was a lad
called
Rodney who was wearing one. Would that make Gerard the Del Boy of
rock'n'roll?
My interpretation is almost certainly wrong, of course, you will be
relieved
to know.
