London gig
- Subject: London gig

The Gerard Starkie song is on the Witness album "Under a Sun" - I can't
remember the track name though. It's a decent album, but not at all like
the Aeroplanes despite the common members. And I like Treeful of Starlings,
but the LP arrangement is too subtle to work live, especially without a
violinist.
The main difference in the London set seems to be that Tolerance was moved
out of the main set to become an additional song in the encore, if I
remember rightly. Probably because the guy who sang the chorus on the
original turned up in a suit to sing it again - I didn't catch his name but
I'm sure it's on the sleevenotes, not to mention the infamous t-shirt.
The gig was unfortunately scheduled and only advertised that week, and so
had a fairly sparse crowd including a lot of friends and family. Shame, but
an unfortunately scheduled London gig is better than none at all. Phil H
did his best to liven things up, as one would expect, though it didn't
always go down very well with the big guy who stood motionless right in
front of Gerard L for the whole show. The band still put on a good show,
with Wojtek and Rita here as well. Breaking in My Heart was as good as I've
heard it played. It was a good Saturday night out, but it sounds like
Fiddlers was a lot more lively.
Hello to Ruth, who reads this but doesn't post messages!
If NW2 is NW2 then I must be NW1.
