Nice one Chris !
An ample update, and interesting about the 'Lo-Fi' thread thus begotten.
I suppose there is a limit to how lo-fi one can go, but after all, one
can
go ANYWHERE else to get hi-fi these days.
I hadn't played 'Altitude' for a while after getting into 'Record
Player'
after the Fiddlers gig, but stuck it on loud the other week whilst on a
'busmans', and to be honest, it strikes me as nothing other than Gerard et
al doing what we've all loved for ages.
Two questions.
Is there any indication of the Christmas gig firming up? The Fiddlers
website reflects someone already booked for the 'usual' Friday as already
mentioned.
I've been a bit diverted recently, but is the 'Harvester' thing just a
simple matter of pootling round to my local reputable recorded music
retailer, or does one have to dive into the Aladin's Cave that is Ebay ?
The line on Oslo, also, will interest Eyvind and the Norwegian arm of
our
loyal band.
Thanks again
Gordon
Steve: What a site !!

I am all intrigued too. So far I've listened to Altitutde twice and
Swagger once today, and now I want to listen to FLP II.
I always get like this when the list kicks off

You as well? I've gone through Altitude and Beatsongs already tonight.
Still, another album in the offing already? I'm not sure I can cope with
the
excitement! Nurse, get the defibrillators ready!

*puts on best Hollywood voiceover voice* When Forums Collide...
Yep, and I've just dug out FLP II for bedtime listening.
The other musical excitement for me today was some-one finding me a copy
of Against Nature by the Fatima Mansions on Amazon for £3! Suitably
impressed and instantly snaffled.
Anyway, what were we talking about?

I like the production on Spitting Out Miracles. I like the hurdy-
gurdy. I find the US albums too compressed. In recent recordings
the voice is mixed too low. I like to hear the words.

I'm so sad I recognised where the sample was from whilst listening to the
track!
New album coming, awesome! (as the Americans say alot, I've just
returned from 2m out there!). I agree with the production thoughts of
others, the only place the gitauirs can swoop and wail and entice is with
BIG production.
Welcome to the site Abi, you seemed to have stirred everyone up - magic!
Bascially all the albums are worth having (yes even Cavilairs and Life
Model) as theres at least a couple of sparklers amongst the grime. Lets
face it, now your a fan, you're going to buy them all!
Be pepared though for a lifetime of your friends asking what rubbish you
are playing, and then usually asking you to turn it off.
Ah the hard life of being a BA fan, there just isn't the appreciation
for them out there.
We just have to live in our own world, profligated by Phils.
yea, just where is Lisa? Unlike her to miss out on a new member?! Come
back, all is forgiven over myspace!
God damn it, you've all made me put Altitude back on.
Thanks, I bought 3 other albums today, and none of them will get a
listen for a few days now!
ho-hum -raise the roof!

You are indeed. A Thunderbirds episode called "Sun Probe". Picked up 3
Thunderbirds VHS videos with 2 episodes each for 50p apiece. Bargain. By
pure chance this was the first one that we watched.
