RE: Liverpool

Brief report from Liverpool last night. Apologies - I have a very heavy
head. Last night I drank like I was 22 and not 32... And it was only
Carling. I am ashamed.

After a bit of an awkward slow start things really got going and I (and
the 3 mates I was with) all agreed it was an excellent performance last
night. The place wasn't exactly packed but there were enough in there
(c.100??) to populate the near stage area and generate a decent
atmosphere. I don't know who the curly haired Rodney replacement is but he
played a short solo set before Catlow came on and sounded very good.
Overall, I thought the band were extremely tight and looked as if they
were enjoying themselves!

The set list was similar/the same as before. Highlights for me were 88
Out, Warhols 15, Beautiful is, ...And Stones. Lowlight was the frankly
awful indulgent rock out dirge that is/was Cavaliers. I had to go to the
bar during that one. Oh and the sound man. Wanker. He sat there looking
bored eating crips. If I was Gerard I'd have whacked him.

I missed the swooping aeroplane noise at the beginning of the set (has
Gerard lost the tape?) but the encore of And Stones and Breaking in My
Heart was as good as ever. The guitars sounded brilliant - is the person
who plays Angelo's bits Julian from Strangelove? He was excellent.

Gerard mentioned something about releasing Beautiful is as a single in the
near future.

Looking forward to hearing the album now. Well, after my ears stop ringing!

Jason
