Lol! You curtain twitcher!
There's no falling out. Rodney was only ever gonna do the Borderline
gig - never the tour coz he has other commitments.

Lisa,
So what's the truth on the rumoured falling out between Gerard and

Ed,
Errrr - YES! You're reading it! This list! (I see Steve has just
replied with that!) :)
The problem has been that whilst EMI can build (and are about to
announce) a site/blog space solely for the new stuff (Swagger/Altitude
- because that makes good business sense), they cannot,
understandably, manage an actual site that would incorporate
EVERYTHING to do with the BA's, past, present and future. They cannot
'run' efficiently a site purely dedicated to the BA's. Something like
the old one Nora had.
Also, running an interactive website takes times, patience and a lot
of effort - something that only someone *with* time, patience and
willing to put the effort in could provide.
Gerard has had discussions with a guy willing to put all this in, but
because everything is kicking off now, Gerard also doesn't have the
time to sit and discuss what needs to be done.
Both Gerard and the people at EMI (and most of us I believe, no?)
think that what is needed is a very specific site for the 'planes and
both are in agreement that I would be a good person to get that off
the ground. I'm not an HTML expert be any means but I AM pretty good
at working out MySpace! (And frankly, there are bands on there way
bigger than the BA's, so I don't really see the problem). It's not AT
ALL to replace anything or any of the hard work Steve puts into this
list - it will be completely separate. This list a way of contacting
all of us at the same time - my intention for the MySpace profile is
more to have samples of tunes, pics, biogs of the band etc... This
list deserves the highest respect and my getting a MySpace page
together would not detract from this in anyway at all. It's not even
the same thing anyway... the BA's deserve some kind of website to
open up to a wider audience a band that we all already love. This
list is a newsgroup thingy... they're different.
Therefore, MySpace seems like the perfect solution. Those that don't
'agree' with it (don't really understand that, but okay), I apologise,
but those of us that do will, I am sure, keep everything that's posted
on the site, up to date on this list. (I know I will)
MySpace is essentially a music community place. Anything I (or anyone
really!), puts together for a band page is purely a matter of personal
choice as the Profile owner/fan of the music, its not exclusive to
just members - non-members can read the pages too.
I'm doing it anyway because I feel a MySpace BA's page is needed right
now. Whether anyone visits or not is, like I said, completely
personal choice. All I think it'll do it bring all the stuff we do on
here together in one place... This list, biogs, discographies, links,
pics - surely thats a good idea? Isn't it?
(I wouldn't worry too much at the mo anyway - its taken me three
bloody weeks to write one email!)
;)
Alrighty then!

Hm. Not all of us agree with MySpace. Isn't there some kind of
server that's
public where this info could be posted?

I'm currently putting together an Official Blue Aeroplanes page on

Probably only end up regurgitating all the stuff you've all posted
lately, but hell!
It'll be ready soon.
Just so you all know.
