I too am a newbie to this list - and I was at the concert in Cambridge back
in 91 too! I vaguely recall some band called Jacob's Mouse being on the
bill as well - that ring any bells for anyone? I also wonder if anyone can
remember the Blue Aeroplanes headlining the NME stage at Reading around
that
time - going on after a fantastic NEW FADS set that was hard to follow -
but
Gerard and the guys did it with style - good memories.
I don't think there's much more to add about the gig last Tuesday - just
marvelous! Haven't had such a good dance in ages and ages (in fact since
the last Bristol Christmas gig); I was most pleased that the Applicant was
as good as I remember it - not sure I've seen them do it live before -
sound.
And a big hello to Aussie James - I'll see you at the April gig!

Lying on your living room floor with your head even spaced between the
stereo speakers listening to ...And Stones really loud from the lovely
reissued Swagger cd :O

I don't know if there's proper etiquette for being a newbie and posting
on this list, so I'm jumping in feet first. I've been a fan of the group
for half my life (!!!), and I first saw them when they played a free
concert in Cambridge back in 1991. I admit that maybe I haven't followed
them so closely these past few years since Cavaliers, but when I saw
that Swagger was being reissued, and advance notice of Altitude, it made
me feel all giddy again.

I've just got Swagger and the Weird Shit cd, and have so far listened to
Swagger twice. I'm now on the b-side - Love Come Round, hurdy-gurdy
style. Bloody great :)

Favourite songs? Pony Boy, ...And Stones, Gunning the Works (
particularly the version on Friendloverplane, ) Arriving ( bloody sexy
song ) Gah, there's too many to choose.

I guess that's all for now. It's good to be here. Don't know how much
I'll post, but I thought I'd say hello anyway.

Cheers,

Elizabeth
