Paul,
we got there in time to see the bulk of Saturation Point's set, and
thought they were top notch. Really engaging.

Would like to make the 11th but we live a long way from Bristol, and
have a couple of things on that weekend already.

Can you keep the list posted if you get word of future SP gigs ?

  Ta.

  Bruce.

if I'm not mistaken) - John Langley, Julian Poole and Joe Allen - are
playing at the Thekla in Bristol on Saturday 11th February.

It'll be a late one, as its a (really excellent) club night called
Espionage. Doors usually open 10.00 ish, the band usually goes on
somewhere
between 10.30 and 11.00 and then the place is open til at least 3.00. The
music policy is varied and excellent.

Unfortunately its my weekend with my youngest son so I won't be there.

If anyone goes along please report back, as I only caught a snippet of
their
set at the Borderline.

PS: Bumped into former Planes guitarist Hazel Winter, who briefly
rejoined
the band about a year ago for the Tsunami Benefit at the Thekla, at the
Farmers' Market in Bristol on Wednesday. She's had a couple of jams
recently with John Langley and Joe Allen, working on her own solo
material.
Whether anything will come of that remains to be seen. I know Hazel rates
John as an amazing drummer. http://www.hazelwinter.co.uk/

Steve B asked" Who was the first bloke on and who were the three piece?"

Shaun McCrindle was on first - about 7.50.
He said he had an album out - he was selling it too.

He was barely off stage when Saturation Point came on.
That was John Langley on drums, Julian Poole on guitar, and was it Joe
Allen on bass? The saxophonist played on the first number too. Thought
it
was a really great set

Pat Fish [The Jazz Butcher] followed.

For those that weren't there, this was the Aeroplanes set:

   Jacket Hangs
  World View Blue
  Weightless
?And Stones
  Love Come Round
  Your Ages
  The Applicant
  What It Is
  Anti-Pretty
  Careful Boy
  Picture Framed
  Cat-Scan Hist?ry
