I'm a big fan of the Fall but don't think even I could sit through seven
whole hours. Why do you think listening to ten more songs by them will help
you at all? ;-)
There are a lot of similarities between the Fall and the Aeroplanes though -
the spoken/sung lyrics, the beligerent lack of respect for current trends,
the literary references and the excellent cover versions. Here's my list of
ten suggested songs to ease you in... :-)
Touch Sensitive (otherwise known as the theme from the Vauxhall Corsa ads)
Theme from Sparta FC (single version - the one off Final Score)
Dice Man
Eat Y'self Fitter
The Man Whose Head Expanded
Victoria (by the Kinks)
Hit the North
Oh! Brother
C.R.E.E.P.

Help, please.
My son plays The Fall. Morning, noon and night.
Actually that's an exaggeration. He doesn't get up in the morning.
It's awful.
But weirdly, now and again, I'm reminded of the BAs. Though on close
examination, the ill-played guitars and the bitter monologues
immediately remind me that I am not in Bristol here.
I seem to have bought him a boxed set of BBC sessions for Xmas which
seem to go on for seven hours.
Seven hours.
So, my question is this: what ten or so tracks should I listen to so
I can learn to bear this torture.
Thanks
Philip
