I remember Gerard showing me a CD saying "this is the LP - it's already
recorded." And that was post Xmas gig 2003.

Altitude is already recorded. I think it was recorded in fits and
starts
over quite a long period, as and when Gerard had the songs, personnel,
time
and money available. When I interviewed Gerard a while ago (which I
promised people a copy of ages ago and never got around to - I'm sorry!)
he
had a copy of it, which is how I know that Treeful of Starlings and
Raise
The Roof are on it, as I played them. Its always possible that it may
have
changed since then, and it may yet change even more if EMI don't like
what
they hear!! Possibly an incentive for EMI to release it is that its
already
recorded, and they don't have to stump up recording costs. Of those 2
tracks I heard, I wasn't overkeen on the production - Raise The Roof in
particular didn't, er, raise the roof as much as I'd hoped after seeing
an
  incendiary live performance of it.
