One of the many songs which seem to have been hanging around unreleased for
ages. See also "Bright Star Catalogue", "Raise the Roof", "Birthday Suit
and Badge", and several others, no doubt. "Tree Full" was released on
something wasn't it? Nick White did me a copy, so it must have been. What
was it on, Nick?
Has anyone seen a track listing for the new album?
Oh, and who was asking about LIT? Did somebody want a copy?

Tree Full Of Starlings is a song on the new album which I've heard is
going to be called "Altitude".

yes, just where is nora?
I've not heard her once since I joined you group of
obsessed saddos (and yes I count myself as one)
I did, years ago, put a post on the website forunm
chat thinggy, but never got round to collecting
comments from it.
I much prefer this method, though it does clog up my
email, even if they are not to me peronsally it still
makes me feel loved!
Oh a different matter (questions questions sorry!)
last years xmas gig had a song called 'treeful of
starlings'.
Now I thought I had everything by the BA's but this
track eludes me - who? when? where?
gtb
ps does anyonehave one of the tshirts that said - 'are
you now, or have you ever been a member of the ba's',
with a list of members on the reverse?
If you do and you wanna sell I'll buy as mine has
saddly been chucked in the bin by my misses! Ok, so it
had a few holes but come on, one of the best ever
t-shirts of ANY band!

A website would be fine Lisa, and I can't think of

I doubt it would get as many hits as what we
alredy have, courtesy of
Steve Thomas, but that's from a guy who bet
Everton would beat Chelsea
last week !
Also, you should look to the example of Nora's
site.
I don't reckon any of us are any more or less
nutty about BAs than
Nora is, and a lot of love must have gone into a
site that many of us
on this site have aloud to lapse.
Dunno what political infighting is involvlved in
that, don't want to
know.
I have no axe to grind here. I may or may not have
bought a Weird Shit
tape from Nora at the London Fiddler,( Nora ? )
but otherwise am not
aquainted.
It wasn't as easy to real off the kind of banter
on that site as what
has occured on this the last week.
That's not being picky picky picky, just lazy.
For instance, is or is there not a rumour going
round that Gerard et
al are going to play a set of bluegrass music at
the Fiddlers ?
I mean I'm cool with that ; one of my best mates
has a cousin that
lives near the top of Blueberry Hill.
A gradually unfolding memoir of the Blue
Aeroplanes would be a great
feature of a site , written by those who have been
there.
Richard Bells' three parter awhile back was
everything we'd want it to
be; concise, honest, self effacing and a terrific
read.
If we could cajole people like Nick Jacobs, Max
Noble, Angelo,Wojtek
and uncle Tom Cobbly and all into believing that
we would really like
to read it, we'd be forming an archive of material
every bit as
important to us as another re issue of a Beatles
Song Book.
I still get back to Nora though, and the very real
demands of Supply
and Demand ; no good throwing the rattle out when
the pisstakers come
knocking.
Enough cliches ? Enough Negativity ?
OK enough then, when you starting it ?

Eh?
Okay, it's time this was said... coz frankly,
I've had enough!
I report back to you lot everything I hear about
what's going on with
Gerard/the band/albums/gigs etc. because I assume
people would like
to know. I've been posting here for a number of
years and when I
first joined, kept stuff to myself purely because
I didn't want to be
seen as some pretentious little twat,
loud-mouthing and lording it
about, saying that I'm a good friend of Gerard
Langley and in some
twisted way, coming across as 'showing off' or
something. Bristol is
a small place, I am sure I am not the only one
here who talks to the
man! I do however seem to be the only person here
doing my best to
keep people up to date by either clarifying or
dispelling rumours for
you all. Rumours that, in fact, grow and spiral
the longer they get
talked about here. Maybe you all like playing the
guessing game, if
so, let me know and I'll crawl back into my hole.
I actually do pass
on stuff that I read here and try my best to get
answers for you
because Gerard doesn't ever read this and to be
honest, I'm not
entirely sure he'd reply even if he did!
If, by any chance or for any reason whatsoever
people would like me
to just keep any news that I have to myself, then
really, just let me
know! I have a million things I could be doing
rather than grilling
my mate about stuff to do with 'work' when
actually, all either of us
wanna do is have a pint and watch the girls go
by! I'm happy to carry
on reporting back too, but you know what - I
would rather not bother
if there are gonna be certain people who are
constantly questioning
what I'm telling you... which is only, after all,
what I get told,
otherwise how the hell would I know and why would
I care! I don't
make it up!
Bruce, I have no idea what you really meant by
the "I dont care. We
don't care" line - perhaps it's a line from a
BA's song that I
haven't heard because *shock! Horror!* I prefer
the popular stuff
(Ooooh, shame on me!). If it is, then I still
make no apologies
because the choice of words was, frankly, in my
opinion, a virtual
V-sign directly related to my last post.
PV1 - I have no idea either what you meant by
"I'm not sure how
disengenious he was being"... But to that I'll
say this: The Blue
Aeroplanes have, in one guise or another played
at the Fiddlers in
December for years and years. So yes, actually it
is ENTIRELY
possible that the booking is ongoing and that
Gerard didn't know the
exact date until last week. The EMI deal isn't
finalised, as I said,
so I can't tell you anything more about that and
yes, when you've
been offered a big deal from a major record
company, I expect it IS
difficult to ignore... The BA's are a long way
from getting up on
stage with Michael Stipe or driving around LA in
the back of a limo
with the Pixies!
Right. I feel better now. Slightly less insulted
and ready for my
Sunday breakfast (yes, I was lying in bed
thinking about this!). No
doubt I've pissed someone off, but I'm sick of
sitting here in the
comfort of my own home, feeling patronised and
accused.
Finally, there are plans for a website. I,
hopefully will be writing
for it. Something I'm very nervous, yet very
excited about doing
because, like all of us here, I love the Blue
Aeroplanes. How popular
it'll be(??!) depends on us, which is why I
thought it was a good
idea to ask for suggestions. Again, if this came
across as anything
other than a tit-bit of exciting good news, then
let me know and I'll
just get on with it quietly and in my own time.
Thanks for listening.
