Gig seems to be looking promising. Likely to feature quite a different
line-up from December. Out go Woytek, Joff, Max and mystery bass player, in
come Ruth Cochrane, Caroline Trettine and Hazel Winter. Possibly. If I'm
right, remember you heard it here first! If I'm hopelessy off, remember
these are just rumours.
When I interviewed Gerard he liked the Aeroplanes to a football squad, where
he picked the team from whoever was available. That's now looking like a
very accurate analogy.

What you all know is that the Thekla was sailed from a Newcastle shipyard

You're REALLY asking why the Blue AEROPLANES don't just gig on the ground
like any normal band?? The answer's in the question Ms Ash ;-)

See, this is exactly the kind of thing that gives me nightmares! Oh Paul
- if you knew me better you'd know that my paranoia and imagination has
already invented a thousand scenarios for a gig on a boat!
Still, I expect (if it happens! Still nagging for confirmation), I'll be
there - easier to spot than at any Christmas gig since I'll be the one
wearing a life-jacket and crying!!
Why can't he just gig on the ground like any normal person?!

Well, you won't see much, as its indoors rather than on the deck! Don't
worry - if you can get yourself across the gangplank (we can blindfold you
if you ask nicely!) and inside you won't even know you're on a boat. It
might start to pitch a little if there's a big crowd dancing a lot, but by
that time you'll have had a few drinks and will assume that its the
alcohol taking hold and not the boat rocking.....

...Oh no!!! I'm scared of boats! Maybe I can just watch it from the dock

Don't worry Lisa - not a case of stealing thunder, just that it isn't
confirmed yet so I didn't want to say too much in case it all goes t*ts
up. I got my info from Hazel Winter, who has been asked to play with the
Planes (Ruth Cochrane and John Langley are the only other names I know who
have been approached, but there are bound to be loads more!) As far as
I'm aware, the gig will be at the Thekla (which is a boat in Bristol Docks
for the uninitiated).
The may be a larger gig with some much bigger names too. Watch this
space....

...Ummm... dunno whether to say anything now!!
Oh bollocks, better to be fore-warned that four-armed or something...!
Anyway - I can't bear the thought of my fellow Europeans suffering in
anticipa.....
Its a possible tsunami disaster charity gig (he only got asked yesterday
and they've got loads of bands wanting to do it so it may not happen, so
everyone remain calm!). The date though is February 19th, not Jan, so
plenty of time to swim over Eyvnid!
Sorry Paul if I've stole yer thunder or anything, but I'm just and eager a
donkey to your dangling carrot!
Lovely!
