Dear Gordon

This is the truth.

Usually there are about seventeen people jumping up and down the near the band. 16 of them are trying to steal the set lists for their scrapbooks. The other one is trying to work out the chords to the songs by staring at the guitarists' fingers.

Sometimes some of them jump in the air to express their excitement. I have been know to do this.

There is then a bank of standing supporters who tap their feet and negotiate between one another about buying beer which comes in plastic containers. Behind them is usually a space. Then there is a group of people perched on furniture. These included shy people like me, people who have come in absurdly erotic but ultimately impractical four inch stilletos and the people who are staring at the noise gates at the sound desk trying to work out how to play the drums like John Langley.

At the other side of the bar are the people who haven't realised the Blue Aeroplanes are on. They are mostly eating fish and chips.

The Avon Gorge Hotel is in a marvellous situation and in the heart of Bristol's Hampstead as I'm sure you know.

Fiddlers isn't.

I think the nosh is as good in Clifton as the mosh in Bedminster.

A cold frosty morning on the Clifton Downs after a BA gig is something uniquely heavenly.

I don't know why I'm saying all this. I couldn't persuade Elise to come. She had a faraway look in her eyes.

Hi All,

My girlfriend has confirmed she will come to the gig! (she of Westlife fame), but only cos I told her we could 'do' Bristol the day after (there's bound to be a City or Rovers home game!).

I need to book accommodation. We have had this discussion before I am sorry but could anyone give me some pointers as to where best to stay?
It;s a long drive from Shropshire in a little Peigeot so we may come on the train. According to my computer map thing it's about a mile from the station so if you see anyone looking lost........

Cheers,

Mark.
